ABOUT “WHY ON EARTH?”
February 2nd, 2025 marks the beginning of the 2nd year of “Why On Earth?” whyonearth.ca was originally established with several goals in mind:
1. To assist its readers and viewers in the search for understanding, meaning and purpose behind events and trends occurring internationally, regionally and locally which may profoundly influence your life and mine. We strive to answer “why” they occur and unfold the way they do and their immediate and ultimate outcomes as they affect us. This is the focus of the news feed and most of our videos on the bottom part of the “Welcome” page of whyonearth.ca.
2. To help people to find the material and emotional support needed to survive and cope with those trends and events that deeply affect them – at the start, it was for our children and grandchildren, but then we expanded to our wider community, and now, the scope of our outreach is significantly greater and still growing. The social articles (now with narration) in the middle of the “Welcome” page of this Site addresses these (as well as the “Emergency – Resources” page of whyonearth.ca).
3. To provide spiritual and inspirational resources for application to those who wish to change the course of their lives from being dominated by this world’s international relations, governmental policies, cultural influences and even natural catastrophes to understanding the short-term and long-term benefits of following God’s path as outlined in the Holy Bible. Bible teaching (now with narration) and inspirational writings can be found at the top of the “Welcome” page of whyonearth.ca.
In the 1st year of our existence, we produced 36 articles that appeared on various social media. As we expanded our offerings to include videos, the last six months of 2024 featured 26 videos (and 7 shorts for YouTube). With those productions we have received approximately half a million views and have almost 15,000 subscribers on all media.
In our 2nd year, we plan to continue to develop our channel on YouTube, update our presentation on Substack and build our presence on Rumble. Each of these platforms require unique advertising to bring viewers and subscribers/followers and we are trying to balance our efforts to take advantage of opportunities on these three particularly (we are also experimenting with X, Instagram and Spotify).
Beside these social media, we want to develop our whyonearth.ca site with personalized features such as a quarterly Newsletter offered exclusively to subscribers. We feel the time has come to do more than just produce content for viewing and listening: we want to interact with those interested through electronic communication, including periodical Zoom meetings to discuss relevant topics.
